Against the backdrop of an accelerating Global Chinese landscape, the Chinese language has transcended the linguistic boundaries of any single nation-state to emerge as a transregional, polycentric, and multi-normative vehicle of culture and identity. This panel convenes five research papers centered on the core concept of the "Global Chinese Ecology." It systematically examines the conditions, mechanisms, and practical pathways of Chinese as a Second Language (CSL) and heritage language in the era of globalization across five dimensions: language spread strategies, the roles of Chinese speech communities in Singapore and Malaysia, identity construction in Chinese textbooks, pathways of localized transformation, and the empowering role of digital learning tools.

Spanning theoretical, regional, pedagogical, historical, and digital dimensions, these five papers collectively map the intricate landscape of the global Chinese ecology. Their core consensus asserts that the global dissemination of the Chinese language has shifted from a unidirectional diffusion to a dynamic, multi-nodal, and polycentric construction, wherein textbooks serve as both a product and a key driver of this evolution. Future research must operate under the dual logic of "systemic embedding" and "local integration" to further explore the intersections of language spread, identity construction, and digital technology.
